leegreen 2,210
How cold is that water? I like the way you stopped it from going up to the road. Was that luck or training? Quote Link to post
Minkenry 1,044
How cold is that water? I like the way you stopped it from going up to the road. Was that luck or training? Actually a little of both. She obviously knew I was telling her "No", but had she been headed somewhere she really wanted to go, she would have ignored me. But since she wasn't really set on the idea of crossing the road, she was willing to listen to me. They are trainable, but noting like a dog. The air was plenty cold enough that there could have been ice in the stream, but that particular stream is fed by a warm spring so the water never freezes. Don't get me wrong, the water is still dang cold (I'm guessing 3-4°C), just not cold enough to ever freeze solid. I had waders on, so I was warm and dry when I got in the water. The only part that got cold and wet were my hands. The following video is filmed in the exact same stream, and the air temperatures were -19°C and look how there's no ice! https://youtu.be/-MUGve15ekk Edited January 15, 2016 by Minkenry Quote Link to post

Not even European mink. However, European mink can cross breed with ferrets and polecats. Quote Link to post
